Buying & Selling

Started freshman year by saving from a summer job, flipping my first car, and building a repeatable maintenance + sales flow.

  • 2008 Chevy Impala Police Package: plugs, brakes, injectors, full fluid flush, head gasket + valve cover. Bought for $2,000 and sold for profit on Facebook Marketplace.
  • 2013 Toyota Corolla: repeated the same maintenance routine and refined my checklist.

Autobody

Moved into heavier repairs to unlock cheaper buys, learn surface prep the right way, and build confidence with structural repair, filler work, and repainting.

  • 2010 Dodge Ram 1500: rust/rot and side scuffing; wet-sanded, reinforced with metal backing, shaped with filler, sanded flush, repainted, and clear coated.
  • 2011 Lexus ES 350: frontal-collision repair involving frame correction, panel removal, fender repair, repainting, and reassembly.
  • Each repair pushed me further into structural correction, cleaner prep, and higher-quality finishing work.
2010 Dodge Ram 1500

First real autobody repair: rust/rot + heavy side scuffing, rebuilt and refinished end-to-end.

  • Wet-sanded the panel, reinforced rotted areas, then shaped and blocked filler.
  • Repaint + clear coat to bring the body line back clean.
  • Big learning moment for prep, straightness, and finishing.
2011 Lexus ES 350

Front-end collision repair that blended structural correction with electrical troubleshooting.

  • Frame pulled back into spec before reassembly.
  • Repaired wiring harness issues so everything ran smoothly again.
  • Finished with clean fitment and a straight front end.
Tinting

Built a local tinting/wrap service after proofing every mod on my 2013 Mazda 3: taillights, 5% window tint, sunstrips, and meticulous masking.

  • Learned tinting, wrapping, and upholstery on my own Mazda 3 before offering paid work.
  • Scaled into local service work for family, friends, and neighbors with 5% tint and clean sunstrips.
  • Taillight requests ranged from full smoke to masked red-only tints for OEM-style finishes.

Repeat client from the bodywork project: added 5% film and a subtle sunstrip.

Sold Jaguar with interior shot highlighting the 5% ceramic tint I installed.

2018 Lexus RX 450hL — Taillight Tint

Clean smoke finish on the RX 450hL to match the darker trim package.

Upholstery

Full interior refreshes: alcantara door inserts, red leather seat conversions, and hand-stitched wheels proven on my Mazda 3 before delivering for clients.

  • Alcantara-style door inserts: pulled panels, wrapped, and stitched for a factory-plus finish.
  • Seat conversions: removed, re-fit, and stitched custom covers to transform the cabin.
  • Custom wheel wraps: measured, cut, and hand-stitched perforated leather.
  • Delivered the same treatment on client cars, including a red interior conversion for a Lexus ES 350.
2013 Mazda 3 — Alcantara Inserts

Removed door panels, wrapped inserts in alcantara-style suede, and reinstalled with OEM fit.

Pulled seats, stitched custom red covers, and tied the cabin together with the suede inserts.

Custom Steering Wheel Wrap

Measured, cut, and hand-stitched perforated leather for a tailored wheel finish.

2011 Lexus ES 350 — Red Interior Client Build

Client requested a full gray-to-red conversion to match the exterior refresh.

Wraps

Wrapped my Mazda 3 in a half-and-half scheme (satin black + red) using knifeless tape, inlays, and overlays to nail the seams and edges.

  • Door prep: wrapped exterior skins and door jambs separately for clean shut lines.
  • Half-and-half seam: knifeless tape and panel-by-panel alignment across hood, fenders, and doors.
  • Inlays/overlays: broke the rear bumper and tight corners into sections for tension-free coverage.
  • Full finish: trunk, quarter panels, and final two-tone reveal.
Panels & Jambs

Started on the Mazda 3 driver door and jambs to set the two-tone base.

Half-and-Half Hood & Seam

Used knifeless tape to split colors across hood, doors, and fenders.

Inlays & Overlays

Broke complex areas into pieces to avoid overstretching.

Finish & Reveal

Final panels closed out the two-tone concept and tied the body lines together.

Electrical

Hands-on wiring and fabrication: valved exhaust with welded-in hardware, Arduino lightbar integration, and full headunit/camera upgrades.

  • Valved exhaust: MIG-welded section, remote-controlled butterfly valve, and hardwired switch/12V feed.
  • Arduino lightbar: strobe + brightness control, wired cleanly behind the grille with OEM-style cabin switch.
  • Infotainment upgrades: aftermarket headunit, amp integration, backup camera, and CarPlay conversion.
Valved Exhaust System

Welded in a valve section, removed the cat, and wired a remote-controlled butterfly for loud/quiet modes.

Arduino Lightbar

Strobe/brightness-controlled lightbar mounted flush in the grille with an OEM-looking cabin button.

Headunit & Camera Upgrade

Replaced the OEM deck with an Android unit, wired the amp, added backup camera, and enabled CarPlay.
